Japanese Panels, an Oriental Touch and Versatile
Japanese panels are an option that more and more people choose to decorate your home. Have opened a hole in our decor almost without realizing it, no promotion just yet and are a very useful and versatile option also provide a modern and minimalist feel to the decor with a subtle oriental touch.
As its name suggests comes from Japan where they form part of the traditional decor and there are several independent panels that cross each other. You can make combinations of several panels, but in the same structure can get to go from two to four or five, although in the case of large walls can also join more than one structure.
The overlap between panel and panel is usually between 5 and 10 centimeters, so that no gaps or holes between them and look like a continuous set in sight. The aesthetic possibilities are many as they can pick up all to one side, half on the right half to the left or all to the center. There is also the option of folding panel with each panel behaves like a folding screen that can be collected individually at the top independently of the other panels regardless of the position you are.
As far as we can use textiles, fabrics often fall, both heavy and rigid so that they fall straight across to prevent dislodging or “do legs” (lateral deviation). For the central parts are more appropriate translucent panels that let go a little light, while providing some privacy, and some more opaque to the extremes, but this decision also depends on the use we will give you.
We can use them on balconies, small windows, large windows, sliding doors, balconies, etc … and in both bedrooms and living rooms or other rooms. The color scheme is free and can do a combination of solid colors or with any embroidery, patterns with smooth, etc … all depends on the tastes and decorative needs.
We must not forget one very important detail is that the application clears the room to give the illusion of width, because the structure occupies less space than a pleated curtain cleaning winning visual and spaces.
Another application that can have these panels is the Japanese room dividers and can also be installed on the roof (instead of on the wall) to separate two different environments, such as living room and dining room.
The Living Room, a Beautiful and Functional Room

The living room is one of the most important rooms of a house, since it is the place where the family gathers and where guests are received and therefore should have a refined appearance and in turn, be comfortable and functional.
Items that may be lacking in a living room is the dining table with chairs, sofa, television … but its distribution depends on the space that has available, the placement of doors, windows … We have to take into account all the elements that make up the room and then distribute the space as best as possible.
If space allows us, it is essential to create two zones in the room, one for the dining room and a lounge. To separate the two spaces is often enough to put the sofa doing as a barrier use a screen or just play with the colors of the walls or furniture placement.
The place chosen for principal component will dine, round tables are comfortable and fit more people, but the rectangular give a greater feeling of spaciousness in the room and have a more modern style. If the space for the table is small you can put a long table with a bench along the wall and put mirrors, as they provide depth to the room. It is important, take good care of the dining room light, the ideal is to place a lamp with warm light, preferably high enough to create a welcoming atmosphere.
In the living we must first take into account the practicality of the furniture we buy, because it is a place we use a lot and we have to be comfortable. The essential elements are a good sofa, a coffee table in front of the couch, a bookcase with the TV and if I had enough room side table beside a chair, to create a reading corner.
The furniture must be in keeping with the style that we’ve given the part of the room, but not necessarily be equal. This area can be decorated in a more informal, adding another color to the wall in front of the television and combined various chairs and sofas.
Feng Shui for the Dining Room
Partners are those who share the bread: the act of sharing a meal always involves a celebration that strengthens the bonds of intimacy, affection and trust. Seated at a table, the distances are shorter, their heads leaning almost touching, the fingers touch. The dining room should be a place devoted exclusively to food and strengthening family ties and affection, so the entire environment should be directed to this objective.
The dining area must provide sufficient privacy and security. This seat must be “supported” on walls without windows, if this is not possible, the windows must be provided with suitable curtains. When you want someone feel important, give the head of the table or at least one area of branch (sector of the room farthest from the door.)
For dinner leftovers removed chairs: as a rule, there should be no more than two empty chairs. There should be a light directly above the table on time illuminating the center of it. The light attracts and generates a focus that fosters communication.
The need for privacy requires that there be real or virtual separation of the dining room in other rooms of the house. It is important to be separated from the kitchen to the person responsible for cooking in a family group, eating in the kitchen is equivalent to the situation of the employee having lunch at your desk.
The shape of the table can be interpreted in accordance with the Five Elements:
- Square: corresponds to the element Earth, brings stability and a conservative lifestyle.
- Rectangular: corresponds to the element Wood. The rectangular table set hierarchies as there will be two capitals, more important than the rest. The diner who sits farthest from the door occupies the position of more power and often the most influential member of the family.
- Round: corresponds to the element Metal. Archetypal symbolizes equality and fraternity.
As for colors, as important as the colors of the place are the colors of utensils and linens:
- The colors derived from orange peach and salmon integrate and promote communication. Use them when you get a group of people who are still not well understood.
- The color red stimulates the appetite.
- The green color creates a casual atmosphere, fun and fellowship. Use it to your friends.
- The blue inhibits appetite, use it if you want to lose weight!
- The purple color indicates a special event; use it for intimate dinners and anniversaries.
- The white color indicates the protocol and formality.
Avoiding the dining room:
* That the table becomes a deposit of various objects.
* That the lighting is too intense.
* Very cold floor coverings
